Go Green

Posted online: April 2018

There’s no greater place to celebrate Mother Earth than in beautiful Santa Barbara (the very place where Earth Day celebrations originated in 1970). Santa Barbara Earth Day Festival takes place Saturday, April 21, from 11 am to 8 pm and Sunday, April 22 from 11 am to 6 pm at Alameda Park. Experience everything from live entertainment and environmentalist speakers to delicious local eats from McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams, Juice Ranch, Buena Onda Empanadas, Taco Tuyo, California Corn, and more. Discover green-oriented/eco-friendly organizations and businesses in the community such as Juice Plus, KOPU Sparkling Water, and Channel Islands Restoration in the Eco Village; relax in the Beer and Wine Garden; or explore Kids Corner. Earth Day is a perfect opportunity to find environmental causes that compel you to take action—whether it be doing volunteer work for a worthwhile cause, cutting down on water and electricity consumption, carpooling, or buying eco-friendly products. We can all make a difference and Earth Day is the greatest reminder of that. Isabel Bassi
