The Santa Barbara International Film Festival kicks off TONIGHT in a glamorous fashion with red carpet entrances, a buzzed about film, and a decadent after party.
Premiering at 8 pm, Disconnect is sure to strike a chord with those living in today’s wired world. Characters in the film—played by Jason Bateman, Hope Davis, Alexander Skarsgard and Paula Patton—experience the dangers of the internet and its effect on modern society. Arrive to the event early to catch some of the cast on the red carpet, beginning at 7:30 pm at the historic Arlington Theatre. Make sure to get to your seat by 8 pm for the screening—it’s a full house!
Afterward, a gala begins at 10 pm, with a delicious (and complimentary) spread of local fare—sample savory dishes from establishments like Arlington Tavern and Enterprise Fish Company paired with wines from Bridlewood Estate. And for dessert, local beloved McConnel’s Ice Cream will be in attendance, churning out sweet treats. Once you’ve had your fill, be sure to linger in the Paseo Nuevo Courtyard and mingle amongst bright lights and specially designed art pieces. The party goes strong until 1 am.
