Mingle with the next Richard Avedons and Annie Leibovitzs of the world this Thursday, October 4 from 5 pm until 8 pm at Brooks Institute’s MFA 2012 artist reception at Gallery 27, 27 E. Cota St., Santa Barbara. Running through November 30, the show features 13 unique bodies of work from graduate candidates in the photography program—including a project by former Santa Barbara Magazine art intern, Molly Hauge. Her work focuses on the discovery, evolution, and acceptance of self. Other project themes include spiritual awakening and cultural confusion. The evening will provide the rare opportunity to both peruse stunning images and to speak with the artists themselves. –Samantha Hobbs
